May 22, 2010 We have posted a new video that outlines some of our response efforts. The response will
continue as we are now entering our restoration phase. Hope Alive is looking into land purchase and staff
housing, along with repairs to the clinic building.
Your kindness and generosity for the Haitian people makes this all possible. Please continue to pray for Haiti
and consider going on a trip with us. You'll never be the same.
May 18, 2010 We have added a new video from the March trip that shows the first drink from the water clean
system in Mariani. Clean water is being given to all visitors as well as folks in the area. (and it tastes good too)
Special thanks to Ed Mayer, our Chief Engineer of the project. We are planning three more units of this type in
other parts of Haiti, along with a few portable system.
Trips are planned this year in July, August, and November. Let us know if you would like to go. You will make a
world of difference.
May 10, 2010 Brand new pictures from our Aquin clinic. Scroll down to bottom of this page. Nurse Suze is doing
an outstanding job and we thank God for her.
Watch for videos of our March trip to be posted soon. The our newsletter is out. You can read it on-line at the
link to the left. God has and will be doing great things in Haiti. It is an honor to be part of His plan.
May 9, 2010 Happy mother's day ! Two aftershocks this past week west of the Mariani clinic, each 4 and 4.4
magnitude. No damage reported.
Many folks are leaving the tarp cities and returning to the rubble of their homes. Government is clearing some,
but most are being dismantled by their owners. Blocks are being pounded to fine rock to be mixed back into
cement, or sold, all by hand. We are looking to provide our staff with permanent housing. Please keep this in
prayer. If you would like to donate, please mark the gift "staff housing".
More pictures are posted from the April trip.
Teams are going to Haiti in July, August, and November. If you would like more info, please e-mail us.
Things are moving along in Haiti. May God bless you for your giving.
April 29, 2010 New photos today. Click on Tony's trees above and see how much has grown in just one week!
Please continue to pray for Haiti and Hope Alive!
April 28, 2010 More pictures from the April trip are at the link above. We have seen God's hand at every step.
Please continue to pray for Haiti.
We will begin building small, clean water systems here in the states. Our goal is to be able to provide these
systems to villages and tent cities. We also plan to have a portable system built to be mounted on the back of a
pickup truck. If you feel the need to help with this project, drop us a line.
There are more trips planned this year in July, August, and November. If you would like to come along, please
pray. It will indeed be a blessing for the Haitian people and more of a blessing for you.
April 26, 2010 Leslee's report from Haiti:
In Haiti our April Team distributed food, shoes, clothing, & toiletries to 762 Haitians whose homes & belongings
were lost in the earthquake. They examined & treated 790 medical & psychiatric patients & gave 8
vaccinations. They led 77 to HOPE & salvation in Christ. They provided individual & group mental health therapy
to 103 Haitians (post-traumatic stress disorder). Thank you for your prayers & encouragement!
All are home now. Leslee is in Florida with our daughter and son-in law. She returns tomorrow night. As stated
before, the situation in Haiti is heart-breaking, but heart-lifting. Look for reports of the ministry of mental
health therapy that occurred. They will be posted in a few days. New pictures from the trip are above.
April 21, 2010 The away team in Haiti reported in with great news of many folks at the clinic and a great
"Gospel Response". Leslee, (my wife) reports lots of good things for the Haitian people. I spoke with her on the
phone this evening via. Skype, along with son-in law Tony and daughter Becky. All is well !!
Our mental health counseling is being well received and vital. God bless these folks.
Leslee reported a big aftershock on Monday. Very hot also, although it has cooled down a bit today. All is ok. I
am waiting for more info and pictures.
Thank you for your prayers and support. It has and will make a difference.
Please continue to pray for all Haitians, the Team, and that God will be in charge of building a new Haiti.
April 16, 2010 Our team leaves for Haiti tomorrow. They have a stay-over in Florida, then arrive in the capitol
Sunday. Please keep them in your prayers. Haiti is indeed on it's way back from the tragedy three months ago.
Hope Alive is seeking God's direction concerning our future plans. There are vast opportunities to minister to
the Haitian people.
Trips are planned through the year and into next year, with accents on evangelism, mental health counseling,
water programs, and rebuilding. Let us know if you would like to take a trip that will change your life.
Please continue to pray for the Haitian people, and that God's Glory will continue to shine in Haiti
April 10, 2010 We have same sad news from our administrator, Renaud in Haiti. He and his wife were driving
through Port-au-Prince Friday, they were stopped in traffic and several armed men approached the pickup
truck. They were robbed of a small generator, Renaud's wife's cell phone, and her wedding ring. Praise God
they were unharmed. Please keep them and all relief workers in your prayers.
A girl scout troop put together some hygiene items for the World Harvest Orphanage, with whom we have close
ties. You can read the story here: SCOUTS
They were very willing to help and quite inquisitive. Thank you Daisies!
Hope Alive has received our largest, single donation of food ever this past week; just over TWO AND ONE HALF
TONS !!! These include over 100 cases of large cans of rice, wheat, beans, dehydrated fruits and vegetables,
and several other survival foods that have and indefinite shelf life. Also donated were two generators, one
being a hefty contractor's model. We thank Gordon and Peg Connolly for this generous contribution.
During our trip to Haiti just last month, we had a devotional one morning about Jesus not being our CEO, but
being our co-worker. He is indeed with us, wherever we go. He walks with us, sits with us, and is in the
trenches with us. What a comfort to know He will never leave us.
April 5, 2010 We hope you all had a blessed Resurrection Sunday! We have just added a video from the Paul
Baloche concert. (click above) What an evening!
The April trip is shaping up nicely. We are excited to see God's hand in putting this team together. Please keep
the team in your prayers.
We still have spaces for the July, August, and November trips. If God leads, drop us a line or call. One week will
change your life.
March 30, 2010 The International Donor's Conference at the UN is March 31. See links below. This will set up
the long range plans for rebuilding Haiti .
We shipped 7 large boxes of food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and tents to Haiti this past Saturday. This
has been a tremendous effort on all who have donated. Our total shipping weight for Haiti this year is just over
five tons!! Another half ton went along with us on our trip three weeks ago. God is Good.
We are still looking for new, boxed tents. If you can help, please do.
The catastrophe in January will have effects on Haiti for years to come. Our goal is to improve every life we
come in contact with, both physically and spiritually. Our next trip in April is already booked up. The scope of
this trip is to have mental counselling with our staff, then the people in the area. This is much needed, and we
are bringing two mental health workers. We will also be doing some repairs on the clinic building and courtyard
wall. We will distribute food, clean water, and medicine, along with 500 diphtheria and tetanus inoculations.
We are scheduling trips in July, August, and November. If you feel that you can help with our efforts in Haiti,
drop us a line. Haiti is rough and it's tough, it's heartbreaking but heart-lifting. It will change your life.
March 23, 2010 Our latest shipment of containers have arrived in Haiti. They should be at the clinic in a few
days. Right now, tents are still the biggest need.
There is a big meeting on March 31st about Haiti's future involving the UN and several countries. They will
determine what is built, where, and by who. This is an effort to coordinate Haiti's reconstruction. Hope Alive is
having it's own meeting Wednesday night to pray and plan for our future involvement in Haiti's restoration. God
has great things in store.
Please contact us if you would be interested in going on a trip to Haiti. We are going April, July, August, and
November this year.
March 22, 2010 Last night, Paul Baloche and his band featuring Jared Anderson performed a benefit concert
for Hope Alive to a nearly "filled to capacity" crowd. The evening was truly a special event. All of their songs are
played in churches across the country. There was over 1000 in attendance. It was worship, praise, and terrific
music, backed up by the audience, who knew all the words. We had the privilege to meet Paul and Jared after
the concert. They are very nice and down to earth. (Paul is a South Jersey boy) If you missed this event, you
must catch them sometime. You will surly enjoy the evening. Please see the pictures at the link above.
There are so many people to thank for making this event happen.

March 17, 2010 Our team arrived back in the states Sunday night instead of Saturday. Our flight to JFK in New
York was re-routed to Miami because of the bad weather. Monday and Tuesday we took it easy and went over
all we learned. With God's help, a new Haiti will be born.
We have been supplying clean water to the clinic visitors, as well as the folks at the World Harvest Orphanage
and their tarp city. We plan to build a mobile water cleaning system to take to the area tarp cities that will run
off a small generator. Most pump water in the area is contaminated. The clinic continues to be open. Food
donated from the US continues to be distributed, along with infant formula and vitamins. Your donations have
made a difference.
Please consider donating a new boxed tent. The rainy season is just a few weeks away, and will greatly benefit
folks until more permanent housing can be arranged. We ask for your prayers for God to give us wisdom in
planning for future growth.
We are planning several trips to Haiti this year. Give us an e-mail for information.
March 13, 2010 TEAM IN HAITI We left for the airport early and were able to drive through Port-au-Prince to
see the quake damage. There are no words to describe the feelings we all had. Despite a week of providing
assistance to over 2,200 Haitians, we are left in shock and are heartbroken. We did not see many folks with
crutches. We met a team of Canadian doctors who say that several amputees developed infections that took
their lives.
March 12.2010 TEAM IN HAITI Our third day at Mariani Clinic. More ministry, medications, and molars. Today
we were able to set up the a large canopy that usually houses cars. It is in the courtyard and provides much
needed shade. Everyone is asking us for tents. If you can donate a new boxed tent, please do so. We have had
about twenty donated so far and they are all spoken for.
This trip has been amazing. Our staff has been through hell, but they are still strong and praising God. There
were more tremors yesterday. Today, I went up on the roof. NO CRACKS!! This day marks two months after the
quake.
God and His people are doing some great things here for His Glory. We fly home tomorrow. Click left picture
for the group.
March 10,2010 TEAM IN HAITI Our first day at the Mariani Clinic. The drive was very exciting. We drove down
the hill to the main street and only had to stop six times to let cars and other trucks by. We take up the whole
street in our school bus. The clinic looks great!! The crack in the floor is actually over a section that is built on
solid rock and NOT over a room underneath. We are so happy. God is so good.
The dentists went right to work on the front deck, and the doctors and nurses set up in the exam rooms. It was
great being back. About 9:00am we heard what sounded like a large truck running over a double Jersey pot
hole. The floor vibrated a bit: our first tremor. All of our Haitian staff looked at us and smiled and
shook their heads as to say "yes, a tremor".
Ed started the water cleaning system!! We replaced the generator for a larger one that was donated. It works
great!! We had a toast and thanked God for the gift of drinkable water. We filled the only two empty 5 gallon
bottles we had and sent them to the World Harvest Orphanage, and filled two five gallon dispensers for the
clinic.
March 9, 2010 TEAM IN HAITI Our third day at the World Harvest Orphanage and church. A terrific day of
ministry, medications, and molars. Today we were able to set up the "Proclaimer" box that plays
the New Testament in Creole. The folks were blessed and so were we. Each day we have had time at the end to
play with the orphans. These children are so loving and always have a good time. Wait till you see the videos. A
large team of doctors came in today from the US.
The number of God's helpers here is encouraging and will make a big difference. Tomorrow we have clinic at
the Mariani site. More pictures will be posted on the link below tomorrow. God is Able.
March 8, 2010 TEAM IN HAITI Our second day at the World Harvest Orphanage and church. We treated several
people and pulled many more teeth. The total count was over 500. Again, we are not seeing the intense
injuries that were prevalent a month ago. The children are lively and are always fun. We are all quite tired and
looking for some down time this evening.
The weather has been just fine; not too hot and actually cool at night. We are meeting several other
missionaries at the guest house. They are all very friendly. We will have one more day at World Harvest and
then be at the Mariani Clinic site for a few. Please continue to pray for us. Click the link below for today's
pictures.
March 7, 2010 TEAM IN HAITI Our first day at the World Harvest Orphanage and church. The tent city on their
land is full, about 80 total with about 5 in each tent. We arrived, got organized, and we pulled 38 teeth and
treated 155 medical patients, all in about 5 hours. We are not seeing any severe injuries as was the case in
January.
We can easily see the Hospital ship off shore and it is enormous. A few other military ships are there as well.
People are asking for clean water. They have a well but the water is for washing only.
This site is west of where we are staying. The scenes were really bad. About 18 in every 20 buildings we saw
were BADLY damaged. Most were flattened. This is very sad. We thank God and we thank you for all of the
medicine and supplies that were donated. God is Great...ALL the time.
March 6, 2010 TEAM IN HAITI I am writing this evening from Port-au-Prince. The flight was good. We were able
to bring in 7 nurses, an ER Doctor, 2 dentists and several helpers. We also got through 900 pounds of medicine,
including 2000 inoculations. This is the first time we are staying at this place. It is a Christian guest house and is
very nice. We plan to hit the nearby orphanage tomorrow and then tent cities the rest of the week and also 2-3
days at the clinic in Mariani. The city seems to be returning to Haitian normal, with street vendors and people
walking everywhere. The tent and tarp cities seem to go on for blocks and blocks. The military is everywhere as
are the missionaries. It is stunning to me that not quite 2 months ago, more than 230,000 humans lost their
lives, probably less than a 20-mile radius from here. We'll keep you up to date.
March 4, 2010 Thank you Medford Lakes Lions club for the opportunity to visit tonight and share about Hope
Alive! in Haiti. We truly appreciate your concern and kind generosity. I met a lot of nice people this evening.
We spoke with Renaud, our Haitian supervisor today. He is excited to be seeing us this Saturday. Plans are in
place for us to see as many Haitians as we can in the week we are there. Please keep us in your prayers.
Several churches have been made aware of the Paul Baloche/Jered Anderson concert March 21. As you may have
read, they are donating their time for the benefit and also the auditorium fee has been taken care of by a
donor! Please go to the concert and tell your friends.
A reminder: we are still asking for new boxed tents. If you or anyone you know can donate a tent or money to
purchase one, please do. If you donate money, just note "tents" on the check.
We will be taking about 30 suitcases filled with medicine and supplies on Saturday. We are allowed 2 checked
bags and a carry on. We will stuff our carry-ons with clothes for us and each of us will have 2 bags of meds and
supplies. Included will be the 2000 donated injections for Typhus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis in coolers.
As I mentioned before, we will strive to up-date this site each day we are in Haiti. Thank you for your prayers.
February 28, 2010 One of the many pictures we have received has caught my eye, and heart. As you know,
Hope Alive operates five medical clinics in Haiti. Two in the North, two West, and the main one in Mariani,. Our
clinic director in the North, Myriam, is working in the St. Marc hospital, giving meds and helping where she can.
There are hundreds of refugees from the quake zones that have moved to that area.
She sent back pictures of various injuries. This hospital looked like a quake hit it in 2007 when we took a team
there for a day. A rough place indeed. I will try to find out more about this little guy and attempt to follow up
on his injuries. Click the link picture below.
This time next week we will be in Haiti. Please keep us in your prayers.
February 27, 2010 Please keep the people of Chile in your prayers. The 8.8 earthquake that occurred last
night in about 800 times more intense than the Haiti quake, according to a seismologist on CNN. Also pray for
protection from the tsunamis that may happen.
February 26, 2010 I spoke with Renaud this afternoon and he reports that the boxes (the 8 shipped the day
before the quake and the 18 shipped January 29) are at the clinic!! They and we are very happy. Your
donations are making a difference in Haiti.
This terrible tragedy is compounded by the conditions that are now across the country. Haitians cannot even
get a good night sleep because of the ground shaking about once an hour. The lack of sanitary conditions are a
real threat to health in these tarp cities. This is one reason why we are asking for diapers. We pray that God
heals and protects the folks.
We are still slated to take a team March 6th to the 13th. Dr. Doug is ready as well as our SEVEN nurses ! We will
be seeing patients at the clinic as well as tarp cities in the surrounding areas. We will try to report from Haiti
each day in this section of the site.
February 24, 2010 We are happy to hear that Blair Wagner, who fell down a few days ago is home from the
hospital and doing ok. He and his wife, Jolene, are board members at Hope Alive since the beginning and their
faith and encouragement are one of the reasons that this ministry is what it is today. Please keep them in your
prayers.
There have been two more after-shocks these past two days, each about seven miles from the Mariani clinic. I
spoke with Renaud tonight and he reports all are well, but still are afraid to go into any buildings that are still
standing.
When I asked him about immediate needs, he mentioned "diapers", small and medium. We will add diapers to
our needs list. He mentioned that food prices have gone way up. This is because the ports are still not to 100%
operation. A half of a sack of rice was selling for $180.00 Haitian dollars before the quake. Now the price is
$250.00. Gasoline is still a little over $100.00 Haitian dollars per gallon.
Renaud also said he had made contact with the shipper today in Haiti. He told him that indeed, the shipment of
boxes from New Jersey will be delivered to the clinic tomorrow (Thursday). That is 26 boxes with a combined
weight of just over 4 TONS !! We are very happy. God is good. See first shipment photos below.
Thank you all for your donations and prayers.
February 22, 2010 Thank you all for the donation of supplies and funds. It has made a difference in the lives of
many Haitians.
We have just received a donation from Sanofi-Pasteur Inc. of two thousand inoculations for Diphtheria and
Tetanus. These will be taken to Haiti with the team in March. What a blessing this is!
We have word that there are more tent cities popping up near the clinic. The trouble is that there are no
"tents", just sheets and plastic tarps. The rainy season is near. If you would like to donate a new boxed tent,
please do. We will be shipping the first week of March. Please view the new tarp city photos taken just a few
days ago for an idea of the conditions.
We invite you to the Paul Baloche/Jared Anderson benefit concert March the 21st. It will be a great evening of
praise and worship. Please tell your friends. See the poster below for more info.
We are getting requests to speak at some schools, organizations, clubs and churches. If your group would like to
be informed about what we are doing in Haiti, please let us know. We offer a power point presentation with
the latest photos, a history of Hope Alive in Haiti, Q. and A. and other information about the new challenges
facing the country. We'll even share some exciting stories that we can not publish on the web! Call or email us
to set up a time.
Thanks and please continue to pray for Haiti.
February 21, 2010 We had donated to us a units called "The Proclaimer". It is an audio player that plays only
one thing....the new Testament........and it plays it in Haitian Creole, Haiti's language. It is about the size of
your bible. You may say "that's great Frank, but where can they plug it i?" Well, there is indeed a plug, but if
there is no electricity nearby, it has a solar panel, and if it is raining that day, it has a generator crank! The
speaker in it can minister to 300 people at a time. The batteries will last and last and the "tape" never wears
out! These units are brand new and were donated by the group Faith Comes By Hearing. We have received ten
of these and our plans are to hand deliver them in March to the clinic and tent cities around the area. Folks will
now hear the bible in Creole right where they are. Visit Faith Comes By Hearing.
February 19, 2010 The shipment of 26 boxes are indeed in Haiti. We have received word that they will be
delivered Monday or Tuesday to the Mariani Clinic site. They were delayed from the original Thursday date
because of the holiday on Wednesday. More rains have come. The tents and canopies will be a great help.
The planning for the Paul Baloche/Jared Anderson concert is going great. We are pleased to say that most of the
overhead IE: venue, (big cost) transportation, band costs, etc. are being covered by a benefactor! Paul himself
is not taking compensation either (what a great guy!). Please attend the concert and tell your friends.
Every caring Christian has a part to play in the body of Christ. Every part is vital, big or small. Your prayers and
support are indeed vital for the responding and restoration efforts of Hope Alive and for all who are helping in
Haiti.
February 17, 2010 Send us your questions and comments in the new box at the bottom of this page.
I met with a gentleman today who had just returned from a two and a half week trip to Haiti. He is part of a
much bigger team of first responders. They go to disaster areas and perform emergency efforts. His stories
were amazing. Several doctors and medical people participated and lots of supplies and medications were
brought in. There are many stories of people responding to this tragedy. We thank God for each one.
We had a window of opportunity to ship this evening. We were able to send four boxes of food and meds,
several crutches AND a 6000 watt generator. We are very happy.
As part of the restoration process there is a great need for rehabilitation services. We are looking to provide
services in the future, as well as spiritual counseling for these folks.
Please continue to pray for Hope Alive in Haiti and thank you for your continued support.
February 16, 2010 We are pleased to announce the details of the benefit concert for Hope Alive! Clinic
Ministries featuring Paul Baloche and special guest Jared Anderson!! (see below) This will be a special evening of
tremendous music, praise, and worship. Please tell everyone that you know. You can right click the poster
below and print fliers for your church or organization.
We are working out the details for our March trip. Please keep this in prayer that the travel arrangements will
work out. Long-range plans are being made for Hope Alive's role in Haiti restoration. It going to be a long road,
but our faith and resolve grow stronger each day.
This past weekend,we had the opportunity to speak at three different churches. It is an honor to share what
God is doing. If you would like us to speak at your church, group, or event please e-mail us to set up a time.
February 14, 2010 First, let me say Happy Valentine's day to my wife Leslee. We were married in 1982 and she
is the apple of my eye!!!! (XXXOOOXXX)
MAJOR NEWS!! The 16 boxes shipped from Medford NJ just a few weeks ago have arrived in Haiti! Our shipper
called and said they are in country and will be delivered to the Mariani clinic this Thursday. (Amen!) Remember,
these boxes are about as big as a small refrigerator! Look at the link below to see first hand of part of what will
be arriving, or click here: Shipment We are very happy.
As we mentioned before, the day BEFORE the quake, our shipment of eight boxes left New Jersey. Because of
the quake, the shipment was diverted to the Dominican Republic. Our shipper reports those eight boxes are
indeed in country and will ALSO be delivered to the clinic this Thursday!!. These boxes are very important.
Why, you ask? Because they contain meds, food, clothes, vitamins and ..ready for this?.......
TWO PORTABLE GENERATORS!! AND A NEW COMPLETE CLEAN WATER SYSTEM!! click here: Hyssop.
Again, we are very happy. God is doing some great things! We are humbled to be a part of His restoration plan.
February 13, 2010 We have made contact with a relief organization named Shelter Box through our local
Rotary Club in Medford. They supply self-contained boxes with all kinds of survival items including a large,
heavy- duty tent. (sleeps 8-10) They are on the ground in Haiti and will be hooking up with our administrator
Renaud shortly. He, his wife, and child will be very pleased (Amen). Rain has fallen in Haiti the last few days
adding to the misery. These items will be vital.
At the end of last year, we planned a trip to Haiti this March. Several purchased tickets. We are still committed
to go. This trip is full. This endeavor will determine when we can begin bringing teams to Haiti. Unfortunately,
the need will be there for years to come.
Again, please continue to pray and tell everyone you know about helping Haiti.
February 11, 2010 AMAZING VIDEO! Click the "Solid Rock" picture below. It will take you to a larger picture.
Now click the larger picture. It will take you to YouTube and show a video of that exact area moments after the
quake. You can see the Cross standing amid the dust! (Warning: It is graphic.)
There is a new satellite image of the tent city at World Harvest Church. Please pray for these folks. They need
meds, supplies, and food. They also need tents. This is one of thousands of tent cities now in Haiti. These folks
have no place to go.
There is a major concern for the spread of illness. A major threat is Tuberculosis. Your prayers are vital.
Hope Alive will be planning trips to Haiti later this year. We will keep you posted on dates and scope.
February 10, 2010 We spoke with Renaud, our administrator this evening. He reports that there still are
earth tremors each hour. He was just returning from Promess, an organization in Haiti that provides medicine.
He was able to obtain several boxes of needed supplies (Amen). This connection was obtained by our friend
Pastor Richard Myers of New Life World Outreach in Millville, NJ.
Lack of food is still a problem. We are working on obtaining needed food and bottled water from the U.S.Navy.
If anyone can help, please call or e-mail us. We have 24 large boxes en-route to Haiti as we speak containing
food and meds. We pray they get there soon and safely. Please continue to pray for Haitians, their protection
and healing. Also please pray that God "protects the protectors".
February 9, 2010 There are new satellite images of the clinic. See to the left (sat. images). You will see a large
tarp at the top (front) of the building. We are having clinic in the courtyard until the building is deemed safe.
Aftershocks are still occurring. Also look at the one marked Le Lambi. This is the hotel that our groups used to
stay in. It is closed for a few months at least.
We continue to provide food, medicine, first aid, supplies, and prayer to the victims of the quake.
CNN is broadcasting again live from Haiti. Anderson Cooper is there and airs at 10:00 pm Eastern.
Please consider buying and donating a large tent to ship to Haiti. The need is great.
Last March, we had a team of thirty people visit Mariani and our Northern sites of Kolmini and Parent. We
inoculated about 800 for tetanus. These folks are safe from this illness which is now threatening many.
Please tell your friends about Hope Alive and the work we are doing in Haiti. Donations and supplies are vital.
February 8, 2010 We are asking for new boxed tents to ship to Haiti. The rainy season is just a few weeks away
and the need for tents is great. The earth is still having aftershocks and the buildings that are left standing are
still unsafe to enter. PLEASE consider buying a large-sized tent to donate or, if you can, send us funds so we can
purchase one (designate "tents").
Please also tell your friends and everyone about Hope Alive. Remember we are all volunteers and we don't take
a salary. Our main office is in our house.
Shipping is another fund that you can donate to. The boxes are 2 feet by 2 feet by X 4 feet. They leave our
home in Medford NJ, get shipped to Haiti, and then are delivered right to the clinic door!! The cost to ship each
box is about $100.00. This price is a real deal. (try to do this UPS) Weight is NOT a concern, just size. If you
would like to help with shipping, please just designate "shipping" on your check.
Look at the picture below. Christ IS the Solid Rock!
February 7, 2010 Just added. New satellite images of Renaud's home.
Thank you for your passion for the Haitian people. You are really making a difference!
Remember in 1999 when folks thought the world may end because of the Y2K computer problem? Several folks
purchased generators. Several folks still have these generators in their garages. If you or someone you know has
a generator and may not be around for Y3K, please consider donating it to Hope Alive. Several tent cities are all
around the country with no electricity. There was little or no electricity BEFORE the quake. Please ask
everyone you know.
We have received some seeds for planting but can use much more. They are light weight and very inexpensive.
Please help. Also Wal-Mart has a two flashlight pack WITH BATTERIES for $3.00!
With all that said, cash donations are still the best. There are now stores re-opening in Haiti where supplies and
meds can be purchased. This is three kinds of good. First, funds can now be wired right to our guys on the
ground. They can use the funds to purchase exactly what they need at that moment. Secondly, there is no
shipping involved, and thirdly, it helps the local economy get back on it's feet. So please give what you can.
Remember, it ALL goes to Haiti. We are all volunteers and do not take a salary. (never have...never will)
The cameras are gone. Anderson Cooper from CNN is back in New York. PLEASE do not forget this tragedy and
the willingness and concern you have for Haiti. We have been operating in this country since 1998 and are
committed to stay as long as the needs are there.
February 6, 2010 We are continuing to collect supplies for Haiti. This morning we awoke to about 12 inches of
snow. We thank the Rotary Club of Medford and Vincentown for donations and the opportunity to speak.
Renaud our supervisor, reports that more people are living in the tent city at nearby World Harvest Orphanage
where we are having clinic. Please contribute funds by Pay Pal or a check, it is much needed and appreciated.
The outlying clinics report that refugees from the capitol are still arriving. Pictures will be forthcoming. It will
take years to rebuild this country. Please tell your friends, co-workers, church...everyone about Hope Alive! in
Haiti. We need all the help you can muster.
February 4, 2010 This evening, we spoke with Renaud, our Haitian supervisor for all clinic operations. He
and his family are well. They continue having clinic at the Mariani site and the World Harvest Church and
Orphanage. Earlier he had gone to two agencies for medicine and food. The lines are long. He was given a paper
to fill out and will go back Monday.
We will soon have an engineer come to inspect the clinic building. Renaud feels that it will not need to be torn
down. The cracks may be able to be repaired. They are still having aftershocks as of 4:00 pm eastern
this day!!
We are looking to have a deeper well drilled for abundant water. We have a system to make
this water clean and safe to drink.(See Hyssop project below) It was not damaged in the quake.
We have staff serving at the St. Marc hospital in the North. They are treating refugees from the
capitol. Pictures will be forthcoming. Thank you beyond measure for all of your prayers,
donations, and support.
We are blessed, our God is a miracle God, and we are looking forward to a new Haiti.
